More details!
More details!
I apologize for the wait for this info. Here are the Details! Well, most of them...
1: The charge for the event is $5.00 per person. Children 6 and under are free. The max charge is $15.00 per car full of people. Essentially, buy 3, get 1 free. This is an all-day pass. You may leave the grounds and return as often as you would like. Just show your number to get back in.
I would like to remind everyone that all proceeds from the event will be donated to the Naval Special Warfare Foundation in support of the families of fallen Navy SEALs and Underwater Demolition Team (UDT) members.
The event is open to the public and is being advertised as such. There will be a lot of people attending for a day of fun!
2: Kid's Zone!
3: There will be bands playing. The bands will be playing a mix of country, rock, southern rock and 70s/80s music.
4: Bring your kayaks and canoes! Rockahock has docks and I'm a poet and didn't know it! :p All state/city/maritime laws apply as Chickahominy Lake and the Chickahominy River are public waters! I don't know what they are, but they apply!
5: Food and beer vendors! Please drink responsibly! PLEASE don't drink before the parade if you intend to drive in the parade! There will be people and children all over the place as well as other people's prized Minis!
6: Vendors can setup for free. Neither C7M nor Rockahock are charging vendors to setup. If you know of someone who would like to participate as a vendor, tell them to contact me here! If needed, Rockahock will rent vendors a tent for $25 or they can bring their own. Rockahock charges $25 for electric service to the vendor tents if it is needed.
7: People can work on their Minis so long as no hazardous materials are spilled in the process and common sense safety measures are used such as using jack stands, catch pans, wheel chocks etc.
8: People can go fishing for large mouth bass in the Chickahominy River or Chickahominy lake. ** A Virginia Fishing License is REQUIRED!** I believe that the cheapest license that you can get costs $16. This is for a five consecutive day license as listed on the Virginia Department of Game and Inland Fisheries website. I believe that Rockahock Campground sells the fishing licenses on-site at their bait and tackle shop. http://www.dgif.virginia.gov/fishing...enses.asp#fees
9: The entire parade route will be within the bounds of Rockahock's property.
There will be more details posted as I get them.

Please excuse my ignorance as I just got my Mini a couple days ago and I've never participated in anything like this before, but I have a couple questions:
1. I can just show up? I don't have to do anything special, like register, to participate?
2. When do I need to get there to be in the parade? I live in Williamsburg, so I don't think I'll be coming at 9:00 unless I have to. I was thinking more like 10:00 or 11:00 if the parade's still going to be at 2:00.

Hi Walking Eagle,
1: We are working on a web form for registration but it's looking like it's not going to work out. I'm not the best at this stuff. In fact, when I tried to update our message board, I destroyed it and had to call in a pro to fix it.
I will be setting up a printable form on the Se7en Cities Mini website tonight or tomorrow that everyone can fill out and just hand in at the gate to save time.
2: There is no need to get there at 9am other than to beat the crowd.
The parade itself is set to start at 2pm. I would suggest that everyone who intends to participate in the parade arrive by noon so there is plenty of time to register.
Thanks for asking about this stuff. Sometimes I take for granted that everyone already knows how this works.
