New dampers, or coilovers?

my wifes mr2 roadster has a limo like ride compared to my mcs

have been running eibach 30mm springs on my fully loaded mcs inc aircon/sunroof etc [was ss+]
i like the lowered look, but 215/40/17 rubber is giving me poor ride comfort, [read very poor 4 up!]
i also have low et wheels due to bbk [et27 inc spacers]
a track day or 2 per year to consider, but in essence 99% street
and about 270 bhp to stick to the road some how,
looking to drive car for at least another 50k+
so hoping to spend once
i feel fsd will not last the distance with lower springs,
so would some bilstien/koni after market dampers/shocks be up to the job at 1" lower ride height than stock
or is the only way forward to go with some coilovers
and will a "cheap" set be an improvement comfort wise,
or will they cost more to "re-build" than somthing a little more expensive

all this realates to poor uk roads

If you're concerned about longevity, then remember that the konis have a lifetime warranty. I think other than that, it will depend on how much you are willing to spend...

look at you options for coilovers.
Lots out there ...

For 1000 (us) I have the BC BR series coilover kit.
I see you are in the UK ... so there is a flat 200 shipping

ride height adjustable.
30 way compression / rebound adjustment
front camber plates included

Yeah, but if you read a lot of reviews, people claim Bilsteins ride hella harsh. Granted, ride comfort is a subjective thing but still.

Is there any kind of warranty on the bilsteins?

If you are only going to lower 1 inch, then I wouldn't worry about the life of the koni's or the bilsteins.

Again, consider how much you are willing to spend on your suspension. If cost is a factor, then also consider that you already have the lowering springs, so go with the koni or bilsteins. If you can afford to spend over $1000 on coilovers, then you will be able to change the height and play with the settings until you find a good compromise between ride quality and handling.

Stateside, Bilstein does guarantee them for as long as you own your car, with the usual warnings. But they can be rebuilt and revalved. one of the advertised features of the SP strut is working with lowering springs.
