Roof or hatch rack for extra storage?

I'm looking to add a little more storage for my MINI, when taking longer trips,m carry clothes, etc.. I see roof racks for bike, canoes, etc, but if I wanted to have a weather proof cargo carrier, where would I find a rack? Since my roof is mostly glass, I'm not sure how they can get one attached? Is there anything for the hatch?

Any information is appreciated!

Thanks..wow, I won't be spending that much though! $500, PLUS the mounts plus God knows how much to install..yikes, WAY out of my budget! Thanks though, I appreciate it!

Check a few dealers, in the DC area, install varied by over $300 from 1 dealer to the next.

Minidomore hitch + hitch rack + box is the best. Took 4 people and stuff to NJ for a weekend (6 hours) and no complaints! You still have to pack well though... these ARE small cars!

Yeah I would second the hitch, at least that way you dont have to affect the looks of your car and i am guessing MPG is a bit better with the stuff behind the car instead of the drag right on the top of the car just acting like a sail!

Not sure if this would work, http://www.rackattack.com/yakima-fit-guide/step2.asp

I just got a rack for my 03 and they just "clip" into the rain gutter. So I only put them on when I need them.
