HID Conversion Kit for Fogs and/or OEM Driving Lights?

Has anyone attempted to install an HID Conversion Kit in either the OEM Fogs or Dealer Accessory Driving Lights?

If so, were there any issues? Where did you mount the ballasts? Impressions?

Thanks,
Jason.

I found this kit on CooperSport web site. Anyone replaced the OEM headlights with this HID kit? Or something similar?

i heard it's a paint to change the oem headlights to hid... or i believe it was xenon..(is there a diff? sorry i'm kinda noob) but one of these was quite difficult to do and was costly... something about changing the whole housing, as well as addin the mechanisms for the washers for the xenon lights)... iono i might just be talking out of my butt but yeah.

Kits that are for retrofit are not street legal. The light that they produce is not focused like a true projector HID or even a HID setup in a reflector lens that was designed for HID. You get hot spots and usually blind oncoming drivers. Most of the aftermarket "kits" have inferior components and ballasts. A true retrofit would entail modifying your housing to include a projector for the bulb.

So far I haven't found anything that you could use for factory fogs and/or driving lights. Except..... you could junk the standard fogs/driving lights and replace them with a sealed projector for the fogs. Sort of like the mods that I have seen Motorcyclists do to their bikes. Ditch the stock head light and install a projector in the fiberglassed fairing.

Lol.. just saw the date of the OP... Holee old post!!!!!
