Run-flat tire dealer in Maine?

I have Goodyear runflats on my 05 Cooper (not an S, so why they put runflats on it, I don't know). They are balding. I'm ready to replace them with regular tires, but out in the boonies - way down east, as we say up here - no one can work on runflats. Is it true I need a qualified tire dealer to remove the runflats or the wheels will be damaged?
If I do need a qualified dealer, does anyone know of one north of Portland??
Thanks

EGB

Look for a local Chevy dealer. If they sell 'Vettes they should have the proper machine.
How far is the big city like Bangor or Augusta. They're sure to have something.

Try this link: http://www.downtownme.com/maine_tire_dealers_164.htm

I have a camp just past Millinocket on the Golden Road and that's way out in the boonies so have found downtownme.com to be helpful.

I live in Castine in the summer, and that's not even close to being way downeast. I thought you were in Calais or something.

I'm ordering later this summer, so if you do find someone up there who does good work on MINIs on an emergency basis, please PM me. (There should be someone qualified in Ellsworth to do your tire thing.) Mini of Peabody should (if they had any sense) open a dealership somewhere on the ME coast. They just don't know it yet.

TIA-

All a matter of perspective, I guess. Feels way down when you're driving from PA. I'll let you know what I find out, There's a shop in Augusta that looks promising, and I'm going to talk to the Ellsworth Chevy dealer (see the msg about Corvettes.)
