MINI Cooper drivers ed event?

one of these days I will need to show up at the 5280 meetingto bring up ideas such as this one however life is quite hectic with a seven month old.

Have we ever done a MINI Cooper DE event? It would be great to have the Colorado MINI maniacs get on the track at Pueblo and have fun for a weekend. I know the CCA does a couple events and Porsche clubs are really active for track events. It is easier to register for one of those events but it would great to have a MINI event where we out number the others. This way the instruction will be more MINI specific as well.

What are your thoughts?

NASA's next Pueblo event is July 12th and 13th. Each day, you'll get your own private instructor, class room time, post-session feed back and 4x 20 minute sessions on track. All you need is a MINI and and a helmet! If anyone is interested I'll coach you on how to sign up. Please, don't hesitate as NASA's HPDE events fill up VERY QUICKLY!

Normally I race my 944-Spec car, but I took the MINI to Miller last weekend. Yahoo such fun! Come and join in on the grins and have a great, safe, super satisfying time with NASA and your MINI! You've got the car... now drive it how MINI intended!

I think this is a good idea and have thought about bringing it up, only problem right now is that pueblo is soooo jammed up right now being the only track near denver. Now if Genoa and Highplains get build we could do this very easily and we would have a choice of track to do it at.

I am already on board for the July 12th Pueblo event. I also ran with the Alpine region Porsche club on their turn at Pueblo last month and that was a blast.

I have participated with the BMW club in the past as well. Dont get me wrong they have been all great. Sometimes even ran into other MINIs crushing the DE events of other clubs as well.

My point is to create a MINI based DE event. Of course it would be open to other makes/models, after all we are not haters. This way we can a ton of MINIs out there to have fun with. Just another club event.

Anyone have experience putting something like this together? I would like to tackle it for next year.

So there is a Golden track event on July 19th, not a drivers ed, but at least MINI's on the track.

I'm sure someone can tell you how this one stacks up, I'm just the messenger...never done this one..
