hey folks, new visitor here, i managed to survive this long and figured out that if i put it in my will (to be buried in my mini) that my better? half won't try to take advantage of my life ins. policy.
now for serious stuff. the socket needed for the oil filter, is it 32mm or 36mm and how deep can it be? any brand to buy or will one from my tool box work just as well?

36mm, as shallow as possible. I've found a cheepie brand (Huskey) at Home Depot / WallyWorld at about $7 per. 1/2 drive, so either a big ratchet or a reduction knuckle (adds to length, though) shall be in order.

36mm, I got mine at Sears for about $7.
Already had a 1/2" ratchet.
Easiest oil change I ever did. I like having the filter accessible from the top of the motor! I got much less oil in my eyes than I used to.

Best part about Sears tools - if you buy a Craftsman - if it breaks, you get a new one for free.....

Chow!

Now just a cotton pickin minute here!! Shame shame on ya for trying to corrupt him by luring him toward the vendors!! Everyone knows that a mini is just perfect as it is. Besides, I only got so many good parts left to sell!
Now, about the black bonnet stripe confusion. I just KNOW I typed in white stripes-- therefore, some mini gremlin must be hiding in this room and changing member posts!!! I've looked everywhere but no luck-- so somebody must be hiding the little bugger. SSOOOOO---- It's up against the wall, everybody ---- cavity search time!!! (pullin on rubber gloves) Us mini owners gotta luv each other
Next time I make choc chip cookies, I'll fax ya a dozen.

Thanks for taking time to say Hi. Send you love from the Rocket City and if old FF doesn't mind I'm ready for my search.
