diagnosis please: P/S cutting out; angle; rain

hello, all:

The power steering has been slowly going for a few weeks. The angle of the car sometimes (uphill, downhill) effected the cutting-out.

Now, the P/S is almost completely gone.

Now that I think about it, for the past few months, after a rain the car would stutter & jerk-- sure to stall if it wasn't rev'd a bit.

please offer your thoughts.

nearly forgot,-

The PS unit was already replaced under warranty several years ago.

Now it's out of warranty period. Any chance it's covered from the replacement date?

thanks in advance

Check that 5W fuse (in car) power steering fan fuse by your left foot.

I will, xymox. Thanks for the tip.

I just ran out to pull her into the garage, as a storm's headed in. Not only is her p/s nearly gone & cutting out as usual during wet circumstances, but the Service Engine light's on constantly.

not seen that before.
