R50/53 tire comfort/fit questions
tire comfort/fit questions
My new-to-me 04S with some engine mods has has stock wheels with some pretty worn goodyear 205-45-17"s on them. On Maui we have lots of new smooth pavement but still lots of rough.
Is there a tire size that has higher volume and increase comfort the bumps?
I want some tires soon and make a good choice!
I have a 1976 bmw 2002 with very sport engine and suspension, michelin mxv's and I can haul *ss over the bumps and not feel it. The mini ride is much rougher. The 2002 has 22mm bars, bilstiens, de-camber plates, stress bars f&r, can't even remember what else but soaks up the bumps pretty nice!

When my OEM Pirelli euphoir@ tires wore out, I replaced them with Michelin Primacy HP ZP 205/45/17 runflat. Also, tires were filled with nitrogen. This created a much smoother and more compliant ride. I am very pleased with the tires. The roads in Pennsylvania are bad. Cheers!
I have been completely satisfied with the low budget general exclaim UHPs. I have driven on some higher end tires such as bridgestone pole positions, michelins etc but these exclaims are great. They are super comfortable compared to run flats, not even comparison. They perform great and they are quiet.
