recently i have had my exhaust hearer turn a faded white color. ( no idea why ) Has anyone every tried to paint them? i know they make a paint but have heard it doesnt last long and burns off. Any reasonably suggestions as to what to do with them (other than buy new ones )

wish i could...not only is herman (my mini) acting up..so is the darned camera! maybe my vodoo curse on the garage that started this problem is going the wrong way

 

I didn't paint the turbo manifold on my integra but I had it powder coated 2 years ago and it has yet to crack.
right after powder coating....
