Does anyone happen to know what the color is of the paint primer on the 2007's? Found that I took a nasty rock hit on my hood and the ding has a light orange-y look to it. I'm really afraid it might be rust but it looks more like the color of the primer. I don't want to put touch up paint on it if it's really rust.... ETA: I don't know how long it's been there, which is why I'm fearing it could be rust.

The R56 does not have primer. It is some type of chemical process before the color coat is applied.

 

Huh...that's interesting! I didn't realize that. Thanks for the reply back on this, Dan. I suspect that it is not rust that I'm seeing but the color makes me paranoid. Maybe I'll head over to a good paint shop and have them tell me what they think.
