I just got my 05 on saturday and noticed when I turn it on it says -2200 miles inspection... the number seems to be growing higher... does this mean im past due? I have 32000 miles on the car so it seems like it is telling me 30K mile service... do we know a)what is included in this service and b) how to clear the notification.

 

It might still be under warranty so the dealer can reset it with a 30k service which according to the car is overdue.If for some reason you want to service it yourself or elsewhere heres a link on how to reset the puter.

Yep - your car's telling you you're overdue for service. Coming due for "Inspection I" at about 30k miles is in the ballpark. Mine came due for it right around 33k.

If your car came with all the various owner's manuals, there's one called "Service and Warranty" that lists the items to be performed, or your dealer can print out the list for you. It's basically a bunch of checks/inspections, except for the oil change, auto transmission fluid change (if you have the CVT Cooper), and replacement of the cabin air filter.
