DID YOU EVER??????

Since there are so many great mods out there. I am just wondering if anyone has done a mod they wish they never did or started to do? inside our out. and why you wish you didnt.

i wish i never got my 15% supercharger underdrive pulley. Dont get me wrong its a fantastic product but has ultimately given me the "modding bug". The pulley was my first mod ( like alot of other people ) and now i spend too much money on the mini in general. not just performance but asthetics too. I blame it on the pulley. If i had never gotten it i wouldnt have purchased the
Alta CAI,
2% crank,
Invidia Catback,
RMW cam,
JCW plugs,
JCW 380s,
-soon to have RMW tune-
35% tint all around,
JCW spoiler,
JCW CF mirror caps,
JCW CF hood scoop,
Viper stripes,
Goodyear eagle F1-GSD3,
Stewart Warner boost/alt guage pack
Custom painted intercooler cover
and im sure theres more i cant think of. If i never bought the pulley and realized that there is alot more to this car than what came from the factory id be paying on a R1 or saving alot more. Im afraid i cant stop now. Theres probably thousands of mini drivers out there who just buy it and enjoy it and seel it when its time, but i had to start tinkering. Now I love my car waay more than i should and the saddest part is that they dont make R53s anymore, and im not a fan of R56. So when my mini finally does have to be laid to pasture, im not sure what ill get. My R53 has definately spoiled me and im scared that i may never find a vehicle thats as good in my eyes ( within a decent price range. )
damn pulley...

My own custom exhaust. Should have bought an aftermarket (insert fav. vendor) instead of letting a Muffler Shop do it.

+1 on the muffler-shop exhaust. It looks great, and was several hundred dollars cheaper than any of the aftermarket ones, but on long highway trips, I find myself wishing for something a little quieter, like a Miltek.

I also wish I hadn't gotten the RedLine leather shift boot and parking brake boot. They're very high-quality pieces and they fit well, but they just don't have a blue that's dark enough to match the dark blue leather in my MINI. I even ordered the leather samples from RedLine before ordering the boots, but just like paint chips, the colours look different once you're talking about an entire shift boot and not just a 1.5" by 1.5" sample.

And while I still *love* all of my JCW carbon-fiber parts, I wish I would have bought the dash, hood scoop, mirror backs and hatch handle from Morristown and installed them myself, rather than ordering them with the car - it would have been *much* cheaper that way. At least I installed the CF downtubes, shifter trim ring and cupholders myself, so I saved a bit there.
