My 2002 Cooper's P/S pump is yet another casaulty to the design flaw....other than BAA Reman I was wondering if anyone knew of a place to purchase a remanufactured p/s pump? I've found some used pumps but I'm a little scared I'll just run into the same problem with it crapping out. Any advice is helpful...and its not the fan, just the pump.

 

starting to sound like my options are pretty limited....and maybe it's my paranoia but the more and more I've been researching the 02 cooper w/ the cvt I'm starting to worry that I've made a mistake and that my transmission will be next or am I just reading about the failures and not all the long-lasting transmissions??

 

I'm not aware of another source for power steering pumps outside of MINI and the available rebuilts. If your tranny is working ok now, I wouldn't get too wrapped up into worrying about it going bad. See if a later (05 or 06) power steering pump will fit on the 02. Those seem to be better.
