Can you tell if a MINI has the factory diff by the VIN

A friend of mine here at work is looking to buy a 2006 Mini Cooper S from an out of state dealer, and the car (from the pictures) looks great, but the dealer doesn't know if the car has the factory LSD.

I suggested we drive up there and do a burn-out. Is there any way to tell from the VIN? The dealer doesn't have the window sticker. The VIN is WMWRE33536TL22380

Thanks!

I wonder if you could try to set up an Owners Lounge account and then check specs there (I can see my specs under the track order section). Of course it could already be registered or you annoy the future owner - so that isn't such a good idea. I guess maybe 1 866 ASK MINI may know the answer...

I was thinking about that, but I didn't want to miss-represent. Is that 866 number a real number (I'm at work and I don't want the outbound call log to suggest I was dialing something inappropriate.... )

To be safe, wait till you get home. You don't want Mr. Lumbergh to stop by your office, do you?

My insurance company wants the VIN, so they can determine the rate based on how the car was delivered, because the VIN will have that information.
