I'm planning on buying a new Mini in the next year or so. I just bought a membership at Sam's Club, and I saw that they have a car buyers service. Has anyone bought thier Mini through the program? If so, how did you like it? How much did you save? Any negatives to using the program vs. buying directly from a dealer? I appreciate your advice.

 

At a friend's suggestion I contacted three car buying services before I ordered our MINI (through Sam's Club, AAA, and a friend of my insurance agent). All three promised big savings... until I said I was buying a MINI. Then they said they would see what they could do, but didn't make any promises. The best savings came through my agent's friend, who could have saved me $250 by buying through a dealer in TX... but they also had to charge for shipping and "other expenses" that added about $500 to the cost!
