Opening the Boot

When I manually open the boot, I don't feel like I have to push anything in...it's like the handle is heat sensitive or something, and when I push enough it just pops open. It is really hard to explain, but everyone I've showed it to, is like "Wow, that's cool, how does it work?". I'm starting to think it might be a flaw though..

Does anyone have any idea what I'm talking about? Is this normal?

From: South Florida.
There is a microswitch under that rubber piece, a light touch is all it takes.

A microswitch, lol. I'm 21 years old and I already feel too old for this crazy technology
