Power to Satellite Radio and/or GPS

I am slowly sorting out how to set up my Mini Clubman.

I will use the under the seat jack for antenna on the Sirius, but am wondering about getting power. I would like to keep the cigarette lighter jack free for my radar detector.

I have the "convenience package". Can I use the leads under the dash for power...or is this only workable for an iPod ?

Appreciate any advice.

Thanks!

There are a few options. You can get a lead that plugs in underneath the cig lighter socket, with either bare wires or another cig lighter socket.

Another option is to use an add-a-fuse. I power my radar detector with an add-a-fuse on the fuse for the PDC (which I don't have).

I'm piggybacking on the cig lighter socket for goodies such as GPS, and going to the wiring harness for the top panel switches and lights for the radar detector power. The comm gear in the back piggybacks off the cig lighter (aux) connector in the boot.

The first step is to get it to work. Second step is to make it pretty.
