Who Has Changed Their Clubman Oil Themselves?

I'm going to tackle the first change myself. I don't want to wait 15k miles for the first change. Does anyone know what size socket the oil filter takes?

Thanks!

27mm or an 1" 1/4" work just fine as well. I used the SAE socket as I didn't have a metric that big.

Don't remember the size of Torx bit for the Drain plug but it was pretty big.

I changed mine at 2K miles Friday afternoon. took about 15 minutes start to finish.

Very cool, thanks! I already have TORX sockets from previous vehicles, so I should be good to go with that. Do you have any helpful tips?

I'd assume the process/tools/etc is very similar to the R56. Here's a helpful thread on the matter:

It's exactly the same except you just have a little more room to bring home the oil.

Boy, that thread helps. I would have NEVER thought to look under the coolant reservoir for the oil filter!

That guy did a great job with his instructions too! I probably would have been a little more ticked than he was when I realized I drained the tranny by accident! LOL!!

From other posts on this forum, it appears that some oil drain plugs take a torx bit, and some are hex. I checked mine and it's a hex fitting, not a torx fitting. 8mm hex.
