Exhaust and warranty?

I want to put a new exhaust on my car but not a JCW. Does anybody know if it will effect my warranty and if so how?

It will not affect your warranty except for the exhaust itself.

Are the odds high that there would ever being a problem with the exhaust?

theoretically no. most of the time the exhaust isn't covered under warranty anyhow. realistically if you get an a-hole at the warranty company they could try to use it as a loophole if you need a major $$$ repair. i use the word try. but, then again if you read through any warranty you'll probably find the terms "any modifications made to said vehicle outside OEM parts will void this contract". will they use that if you need a power steering pump replaced? doubt it. but if you have to get a $5000 repair on thier dime they may send out a field rep to inspect the car.

odds are very low that the exhaust should ever cause an issue.

heads up if you even do something as small as a CAI keep your original stock air box and put it back on if you need a repair. i had one warranty company who would not sell me a warranty because of the CAI. they're also very **** about suspension upgrades. even non OEM wheels. probably because all of the ricer road racers have ruined it for everyone.

best advice get the warranty first before you do anything. and keep the oem parts you swap out.

dishonest? maybe i guess but, it's kind of dishonest for them to try to void a claim because you have a rinky dink CAI or you switched to aftermarket rims.

you will be fine putting an exhaust on your car it doesn't affect warranty, and there is a 99.9% sure rate that nothing will happen to your exhaust
