OK all...I am posting this today, since I won't be on this weekend. This Sunday (August 3rd) is the one year anniversary of when I picked my Cooper up from MINI of Towson. I can't believe that it's been a year already! Anyway....here is a brief synopsis of how the year has gone.....I know that there are posts on this site that may freak new and potential owners out a little bit...so I hope that this can make you feel good about your purchase.
I'll start by saying that my MINI, which is a 2002 Pure Silver and Black Cooper with a CVT, currently has just over 17,000 miles on it. I went in for the oil service at 10K, which is really the only contact I've had with the service department, but it went smoothly. I have never had to deal with sqeeky seats or a rattling sunroof. I did, for a time, have an engine stumble at red lights that seems to be a common occurance with the CVT, but that hasn't plagued me in some time. I never did a software update, but I will still do it, just to make sure I have it covered. The only other problem that I have ever had was that my boot latch went. Right after I hit 10K miles. But after posting about it on MCO, I was told to unlock and lock it again several times and that actually did the trick. I feel fortunate to not have had any problems with my car....but it just goes to show that not everyone does have problems!
This year I have been doing some things to modify my MINI and I have got to tell you guys, I had no idea that even after a year a car could still be so much fun to drive and feel so NEW. I still get positive comments from people all the time...that has never stopped! I can gaurantee the people that are new to the MINI that the newness for me never wore off like I thought it would...I still have just as much fun with my car as the day I picked her up! So have fun with your MINIs! I know you all will!
Here is a before and after pic...the top picture is the day that I picked up my MINI, almost one year ago....and then a one year later pic.....

My Mini is a year old as well!
I second the part about the newness never going away!
Every morning when I walk out to my car I get a smile on my face knowing she's mine and how much fun she is to drive. When ever I get out of the car I still can't help my self from looking back and checkin' her out!
Unfortunately, I haven't been quite as lucky with problems

Lmini... congratulations for having your MINI for a year!!! I first decided that the MINI was cool about this time last year, and then went for first test drive in October and then it was a passion, ordered mine in December and got it in March.
These are fun cars.

It looks like your one year will anniversary will very nearly match up to my 1st DAY!! I left work early today, stopped by my dealer (Checkered Flag of Virginia Beach), and was told as I got out of my car that my MINI just came off the truck in BACK!!!
YAY!
I did a little happy dance and went to see her... totally the most beautiful Mini I've ever laid eyes on.
MCS, EB/White. with space cloth and HK.. other stuff as well, but looks wise, that'll give you an idea, dear reader.
I have to agonized all weekend until she's ready for me Monday. I told the dealer no badge (see my badge post) and no front license plate bracket... a no no in Virginia, but I'll take my chances.
My tags are here and ready... they Read NAUGHTY
I'll have full review of my car and my dealer soon.
