Clubman under-floor storage - lots of it!

I just picked up my Clubman tonight, and I'm very impressd with the amount of under-floor storage in the cargo area. I have the base model with the mini-spare, but even with the spare there's a good-sized area just above the spare which houses some tools and a has room for my 12v inflator and a few odds and ends. The underfloor compartment above is the width of the car, about 6" high, and about 18" front-to-back. I fit all of the stuff I had in my BMW wagon's under-floor area in there, with plenty of room to spare. I really hadn't expected all that storage space!
Also, the acid test, my 54cm road bike fits perfectly in the back with the rear seats folded down and the bike's front wheel removed. No roof rack for me!

You may want to invest in one of these liners for the back of the car with your bike. I put one in and it makes a nice little "truck bed." NOw all I need to do is find something to carry.

Actually, I have a blue "liner". It's a heavy quilted moving blanket from Home Depot, about $15.00. I use it to line the bottom and sides of the cargo area whenever I stow my bicycle inside. It's very thick and heavy, and protects the inside from any damage or dirt. I've used it for years in my last car, a BMW 325 wagon, and it's easy to use, and the price is right! It's also useful for hauling garden supplies or any other messy cargo. A simple solution to keeping my MINI clean.

Sure beats the $280 tag on the "Official" liner. Sometimes my impulsiveness overloads my brain cells.

Miniclubman, I just use an old comforter for my bike but a moving blanket sounds like a great idea due to its thickness.

Cloud10 - The custom liner can't be beat, as it's completely waterproof, and firmly ataches to all the anchor points. It's just a little more than I need for carrying my bike, or 50 pounds of bird seed from Home Depot. Now if I could only find a moving blanket in a checkered-flag pattern!
