1st Annual Saint Patty's Day Rally on Sunday, March 16.
1st Annual Saint Patty's Day Rally on Sunday, March 16.
Note: New Start time of 9:00 am, first car out at 10:00 am.
The British Auto Club has invited us to participate in the First Annual Saint Patty's Day Rally on Sunday, March 16. They will need a firm head count for the buffet lunch so please respond if you are going to come. We would like to have a good showing from Sin City MINI Club for this event!
From the invitation:
We are going to meet at the Crown and Anchor Pub on Spring Mountain and Decatur at about 9:00 A.M. and get the first car out at 10:00. It's going to be gimmick rally answering questions about Saint Patricks Day, Ireland, and identifying land marks along the way for points. There will also be a stop about halfway through the rally for a quick game of skill involving throwing some small MG parts into an MG oil pan.
We are going to end up at an Irish pub for lunch and an awards ceremony. The First Place Winner will get a wall plaque and The Second Place Winner (and here's the kicker) will get a traveling trophy comprised of ruined car parts.
The ground rule for this first annual and all succeeding BACLV St. Patty Day Rally is that the Second Place Winner must keep the trophy for one year, add a piece to it so it will grow over time into something truley hideous, and must agree to be the Rally Master and put the event on the next year.
We are still putting organizing this event and it looks like we will have a buffet lunch that will cost about $20.00 per person plus a $5.00 entry fee per car. We have 21 people signed up from our club so far and the more the merrier.

I just heard from the British Auto Club, and they've changed the start time to 9:00 am, with the first car out at 10:00 am. The location of the lunch is Molly Maguire's Irish Pub in Southern Highlands for a buffet featuring corned beef and cabbage (of course) and other goodies.
I'll need a head count by Saturday March 15 at the latest. Remember, the cost is $5 per car for the rally, and $20 per person for the buffet.
