Hello im am 16 (male) and saving for a mini s and i need to know if anyone used the mini-select financing program and if so how much were your payments and total cost? i am thinking about getting eletric blue with black roof and bonnet stripes does that seem like a good combo of colors? And what is your opinion on the MCS 6 speed tranny.

The Select financing is available only in certain states. It's basically a lease-esque payment with a large balloon payment at the end of the term. What this allows you to do is pretend you're leasing, and then if you want to buy, you re-finance the balloon payment.
The MCS is definitely the hot-rod of the MINI's. However, with a $3k sticker difference, plus potential dealership premiums, huge wait times, and higher insurance, you may want to put serious consideration into looking at the Cooper instead. The handling is indentical, and the powerbad is similar below 3500rpm.
I very much like the Getrag (pronounced gEE-trayg) 6-speed. It is probley the best feeling shifter of any front driver. The ratios are a bit spaced out, which I like, but some others don't. The ratios are good for everyday driving, but not optimal for racing.
The Electric Blue is defintely growing on me, I really like it now, especially with the black roof. Rule of thumb on the contrast roof color; White is "fun" and Black is "sexy".
Cheers,
Ryan

Welcome to MCO!!
We have an 03 MCS Electric Blue with White roof. Going to add bonnet stripes as soon as my new business is off the ground.
We are leasing our MCS, 48 month term $1k down payment. We got ours pretty loaded, Sport and luxury packages plus leather seats. Not sure how the payments differ between the MINI-select and a traditional lease, but our payment is +$400 per month. We ordered ours (took about 11 weeks to get) and paid no dealer mark ups. Price was MSRP. LOVE the 6 speed transmission! The whole package is very smooth. Find myself at 75+ a lot without it even feeling like it, and not even in 6th gear yet.
If you want to get one sooner, look into any 02 or 03 models that the dealers may still have on their lots. Otherwise, time your orderiing so you get an 04.
