This is a windshield treatment I had applied to my 06 MCS that is supposed to prevent the glass from pitting and chipping, and comes with a 4 year warranty. Well, its has been over a year, and two applications from RBS services in Sterling, VA. The verdict, IT'S SNAKE OIL!, which should come as no surprise to anyone.

Suspecting this going in, I negotiated a lower price, (they have since refunded 1/2 of that) but left the windshield breakage warranty in place. When I first had the coating installed and noticed pitting they said they had a new process for application, so they came to me (nice touch) and re-applied at no charge. I still drive avoiding SUV's, semis and other large vehicles like the plague, but on a nice sunny day with the sun in my face, I get the impression I am looking through at the solar system, (a small system, not covering the entire glass yet, but still there.)

So if you are thinking of trying this (there have been a few threads), don't waste your time or money. Once I get the entire solar system etched in the glass I will get a PPG windshield installed, but until then I will practice my rock avoidance techniques the best I can.
