Webb Motorsports Update!
Webb Motorsports Update!
Whew! A lot has been happening here at Webb Motorsports.
We have completely moved from the old shop to our new facility (which is our original facility). I still have full fabrication capability at our sister shop, but I am now available by appointment only for installations. Installations are at my home shop - since moving we have built a race car, installed numerous pulleys, fabricated a custom exhaust system, and finished up a TurboKompressor kit. Dyno tuning is still available as well by appointment only. The best way to reach us for appointment currently (more to follow below on that) is through email - randy@webbmotorsports.com.
I am focusing our direction on what we have always had as a strength - high quality, well designed, cutting edge performance parts. That includes development of our own parts as well as the testing and development of other manufacturers. We are finishing up the development of several new products. Our R53 exhaust system with both a removable block plate (and optional electrically controlled butterfly valve) and owner adjustable muffler is in final testing stages to ensure the highest quality. Our R56 exhaust system is also close to quality testing, and will include a block plate/butterfly valve as well, with the end user adjustable muffler system included. Testing is still being done to determine the best tube diameter for the R56. Our R56 camber plates are also in testing now, and should be available after more quality tests. As mentioned in one of our last posts, development on the R56 intake system has stopped following testing that validated the stock system using a foam replacement filter. Slated for the drawing board are a new intercooler and ECU tuning for the R56, and gauge kits for both the R53 and R56. A new improvement has also been made to our SportBox intake for the R53 and shipped on the last three orders to customers (a nice surprise for them). More SportBox options are going to be listed in our new format, which brings me to my next change...
With all of the parts development, we are also going to be implenting a new interactive website. This will include a calendar that has not only my flying schedule, but the installation appointments available. The interactive calendar will allow sign ups online for "social meetings" around the country as well as appointments for installations or consultations. The new website will also include a completely new catalog of parts some new, and some deleted. Functions such as the live chat and forums will continue, but will have a new look and feel, and the forum will include some new categories to help you decide which aftermarket parts to use for your application - including many parts we will no longer carry - with the best vendors and prices to get them from. Look for a few new how-to's along with the new categories.
I mentioned changes, and it goes beyond our new location, products and website. Many of you know I have gone back to flying for United Airlines. That caused speculation that I was no longer dedicated to the MINI community. That is certainly not the case. I plan to continue development for the R53, R56 and whatever the next gen of the MINI happens to be. Webb Motorsports is one of the only vendors to be involved with the MINI since 2002, and I don't plan on letting that history go.
Webb Motorsports is a different kind of business, and I realize we are not for everyone. That is one of the reasons I am going to be introducing the new category in our forums that makes recommendations to folks for a vendor that may be a better match for customers who want immediate responses or immediate shipment. I cannot make that promise. What I can promise is that whe I respond, you will get all of the knowledge I have and receive tailored information to exactly what your needs are. I also promise to race and auto-x to develop our parts in the most thorough way possible, bringing the only aerospace discipline available to the MINI market.
In closing, I want to thank the literally thousands of customers of Webb Motorsports who have continued to support us from the beginning through now, in more than a professional manner. Many of you have taken interest in my family's personal well being. This is an amazing community, and it is one my wife and I hope to remain a part of for years to come. We will continue to provide our service to our patient customers, new and old. I don't try to make any false appearances - Webb Motorsports is a family business with me and my wife as the only employees. We now (since October of 2007) operate out of our house.
We will be making other Vendor Announcements as new products and our new website come online. Feel free to contact us with any questions regarding our testing and development or current product offerings.
Thank you!
