Cost of Mounting Tires

Hey there fellow NAMers,
I am replacing my R90 S-Lites with R91 Bullets. Problem is, my S-Lites have brand new Pirellis runflats and these incoming Bullets I just bought have near-blad Dunlop runflats. Does anyone know (roughly) how much it cost to 1.)remove the old tires from the Bullets 2.)remove the new tires from the S-Lites and 3.)mount those new tires onto the Bullets? If anyone has had this done, are there any issues to look out for? As I hear some tire shops have had problems with damaging wheels when mounting runflats (is that myth or fact)? Share you thoughts.

Side Note: I've heard/read most of the debates between runflats and non-runflats. Many valid points but it's not an issue for me right now, as I already have six brand new Pirelli Eufori tires to employ.

Any stories or advice on mounting costs (no pun intended) are great appreciated!

Typically, around here it costs about $18 a corner to mount/balance tires. Although sometimes a portion of that fee is "disposal" of the old tires, so it might be cheaper if you're keeping them.

Check around

There CAN be issues mounting RF's because of the low profile and very stiff sidewall so don't just go to the local chain store. Find a place that does business in aftermarket wheels, especially big rims with low profile tires; or as I did, a race shop.

The local chain store may really hack your wheels and/or trash a tire.

I've had luck checking the Tire Rack web site for the 'recommended installers' but others here have said they've run into problems with that. As I said, the guy I used (b4 I moved) was TR recommended but also heavy into the BMW racing scene. Interestingly, when I decided to replace my RF's the last time he asked if he could use them as a training tool for a new kid in the shop: he'll probably ruin the tire but you won't care right? Then he let me watch and call stop at any time..... Kid tore one up bad getting it off.....but the boss did all the mounts!

Checked with a local shop (chicago western suburbs) and they wanted 18.50 including disposal. I called another one, and (incredibly), they wanted 21.50 per tire without disposal.
