R50/53 $6 per gallon in Hawaii
Saw an ad in the Buy & Sell. The 76 Station on King St. is selling 100 octane gas. The ad said it's good for turbo and supercharged engines. Anyone used this type of race fuel on their S? It also SAYS it can be diluted to achieve a lower octane rating...hmmmm
1. Why would anyone pay $6/ga only to dilute down
2....great, I have an image of an idiot in his backyard with plastic containers, mixing.....never mind.

Higher octane gas "won't" create more power. It will burn cleaner and help prevent detonation/pinging.
For a modest/simple application like our cars - I think it's overkill.
I do, however, put Sunoco 94 octance in my car since it's cheap over here.
1.56 gallon...

To take advantage your engine must be tuned to the higher octane. It's a timing issue becuase it ignites at a different time.
In short, it won't do you any good for you Mini.
My dad works for Chevron, he tells me it's even amazing how many times when you buy 87 Octane it's really 91+. Has to do with the refinery as well as transpiration issues to gas stations (sometimes they just put the high octane in all to the tanks).
