I've been in pretty constant contact with our MINI brother and sisters with M2C2 (MINI Motoring Club of the Carolinas), Coastal MINIs in Savannah, and Charleston MINIs. We've been discussing forming an alliance somewhat like the Florida Sunshine MINIs network. Sunshine MINIs is an alliance of Florida MINI clubs that have functions together, keep each other informed of what's happening, and visit each other during their travels. I think think this would be great for us, especially with the MINI Takes the States 2008 and other national events scheduled this year. I'm not sure if the Atlanta MINIs Club is interested as I have yet to receive a response from them indicating any interest. If they are not, we would still have 4 regional clubs that can unite into an affiliated group. The Helen, GA motoring event (being led by M2C2) is a prime example of the type of things we would be doing.

I am going to also talk to Coastal MINIs about possibly planning a MINI event in Savannah sometime this summer or even as early as late spring.

Thoughts anyone?

 

JJo came up with a great name for the affiliation of MINI clubs here in the Southeast, it would be the Southeast MINI Alliance (SMAll). I think this is fitting for a MINI organization and a cool logo needs to be developed for this.

Therefore, I would like to initiate an opportunity for the creative, left-brained folks out there; a logo contest in which the winning logo will be used.

I think you hit it big with SMAll! It would be nice to be able to know what others are doing so our club members can plan ahead if they'd like to meet up with another group. Keep us posted on how the other interested clubs would like to coordinate this.

 

This is getting a lot of attention from the National MINI community. I am getting e-mails of interest from clubs from neighboring states and Barry Brazier, the Publisher at MC2 is also extremely interested and wants to run a story of this. This obviously will be getting all of us international attention. I am very excited about this and obviously this will be one of the top two topics at the next Back Yard Burgers Meet and Eat!

Hey, what happened to this? I was looking at the Map of clubs on NAM here and your club bio says you're a member of SMAll. So is there a web site or anything?
