Service Schedule for an 05 MCS?

Because I normally commute with my wife or take the train, I only have 23K miles on my 05 Mini S. The last service I had was at 10k. I seem to recall that the next scheduled maintainence is at 25K. Is that correct? Thanks.

Approximately 25k. Your service reminder on the dash will tell you when. Oh, and if it's been a year since your 10k, go ahead on in for the low-mileage service.

Thanks but what is the "low-mileage service?" And yes, it has been over a year since my 10K service. By the way, I have the automatic S too.

You are entitled to an oil change every year if you do not put enough miles on your MINI. I had my first scheduled service at 12000 some miles and then again one year later at 20000 some miles. I still have about 6000 miles before my next (second) scheduled service.

Your dealer will NOT suggest this, you MUST request it!

The scheduled service, included with every new MINI, is 3 years/36K miles, WHICHEVER COMES FIRST. So be sure to check with your dealer if you are still covered. For example, even if you car only has 23K miles, the scheduled service might be about to expire or expired already, depending upon the date of the car when it first entered service.

Yes, I was thinking about that. In February is will be 3 years. Will they do the 25K service now at say, 24K (which I expect to have on my car in a few weeks or so)? Thanks.

I just turned the key and checked the readout for my next scheduled service. It said I have 4,575 miles to go. I could have sworn it only had 10K miles, maybe a little more the last time I took it in for service. Does this sound right? The dealer who I just called (Mini of Sterling Virginia) said they will not schedule an appointment until it reads 1500 miles or less, normally it's a 1000 miles or less but they are running a backlog and it could be a while before I get an appointment.

I think so. Just let your service advisor know about your current mileage and they should squeeze you in.

Typically during the 25K mile service, your dealer will replace the brake pads and rotors, GRATIS. This of course, depends on how worn they are.

This is great information - thanks. My '05 MCS has 22k miles on it, so it's good to know that the next "scheduled" service should be in about 3k miles, or so.
