Outdoor Car Cover - Which one?!?

Alrighty, its time for me to get an outdoor cover my MCS. I tried looking in the forums, but couldnt find anything on point. So, what have your experiences been? Is the OEM any good? What about a NOAH cover? Price is a factor, but I really need an outdoor cover. It would also be nice to have something that scrunched so that it wouldnt take up too much spacy in my mini('s) trunk.

JB,

Luckily the mini gets to stay inside, but I've bought quite a few covers in the past. If you don't like dust and moisture on your car, the best I've found is Cal Car Cover Weather Shield. The weathershield is a treatment to the cover and it basically causes the water to sheet right off the cover. Also, the cover they apply this to is like a nylon and it won't let dust through.

The noah types breath a little better, but they really allow dust through, so you end up with dust / moisture which turns into mud.

A bit more expensive but in my experience, completely worth it. Good luck.

It seems that not many MINI owners purchase them. I also asked about one some time back and it seems most NAM'ers either keep their MINI indoors or discredit the advantages of an outdoor cover.

We have two styles of covers, both list as outdoor covers for the Mini, and were OEM from the dealer. The one we bought for my wifes ragtop is a really nice nylon. My cover for the coupe is a heavy duty breathable cloth. Both while nice, I would not use outdoors. Then again I would never leave a toy stored outdoors either, I use covers in the garage to protect against dust, dirt, and scratches. Let me know if you want more info.

I don't cover my Mini but I would recommend Cal Car Cover's stormweave model. The multilayer cover will keep dirt and most water (to a point) off the car while letting the paint breath. I have covered a 911 for over 10 years now under 2 of these covers. No paint problems with it.

Covercraft is another company that makes cover for almost any model of car. I have an indoor flannel and outdoor cover for my Corrado. They both fit very well. Many of the online places that sell covers seem to just distribute for Covercraft.
