Hah! Since only Mods can rename threads, want me to change HD into HU? It would reduce confusion a little bit...

Nice job BTW - that's cool that you've been able to do that. What's next? Adding the MINI Aux input, OEM SIRIUS receiver and/or CD changer?

05' MINI High Def unit installed in my 87' Porsche Carrera

Maybe I should have added a little background. I also have a 06 MINI (Space Blue) Checkmate. That is where I was introduced to the HC system. I must admit that in the beginning, I was just looking for a good radio/CD player for the Porsche. But after I bought it I found that it required an iBus signal in order to work. Since when the radio is out of the car and bench tested is displays "DISABLED", and no one could tell me how to get around it.... then it became a challenge. Not to mention that the radio from MINI is $600 + and you can find one on e-bay everyday for less than $50, it seemed like a good deal.

As to the MINI Aux input, OEM SIRIUS receiver and/or CD changer...that is not a challange, all I have to do is go to MINI and hand then a credit card and they will give me the add-ons to install....it is when someone says that it can't be done....is when it gets interesting!

Now if only I can get a production run on the number of Checkmates for 06'......
