Brakes getting soft, but still have pad

Why are my brakes getting soft most of the time, but sometimes they seem fine? Previous experience (other cars) was the master cylinder had a leaking piston gasket. The idiot light has not come on either. I have 67,000 miles, the brakes were redone last January. The fluid is full. When I pump the brakes twice it's okay (but not normal).

Sounds like it's time to change the fluid. Flush the entire system and fill with new.

That was replaced in January when added s.s. lines.
