Chrome Bezel on R56 Key Fobs

Has anyone had a problem with the chrome bezel on you key fob cracking & falling off? If so, how has your luck been getting the dealer to repair/replace? Over the past two days it has happened on both of the transmitters for my new MC. It looks like it would be fairly easy to Super Glue back on but I would hate to do it myself and have one of the buttons get stuck if it the service department would do it under warranty...

It happened to me but it is just a cheap plastic piece and has no effect on the operation of the key fob. I do not plan to replace the key fob.

Mine cracked, so I put a drop of crazy glue, and its been stuck for over 5 months now. But my buddy's broke into many pieces so it was impossible to glue it back on.

Definitely a small issue that would be nice if they could fix.

The same thing happened to my spare key/fob. When I was at the dealer for an oil change, I showed them the fob and they ordered me a new ring. It came in a couple of weeks ago, they put it on, and now it's just like new.

The ring on both of our keys broke. I superglued it back on one and it has stayed with no problem. I haven't glued the other back together yet - I've been careful to keep the ring on the key and there's been no problem. I need to find that glue.

It's a cheap little piece.

the dealer should order you a new one without any fuss. have them put it on in case it breaks while installing it.

Same thing happened to me and since I had to go into dealer for a couple of other things I showed them my key with missing ring (glad it had just happened two days before) and they ordered me a new one. Should be getting it soon.
