Oil

I know Mini recommends Castrol for their vehicles and BMW reccommends it for all their vehicles and I know it's supposed to be synthetic (that's all i use anyway). Does it affect warranty if I use Royal Purple 5/30??

Good question. I don't think it will cause any problems with the warranty, but maybe a quick call to your dealer and see. I ran Mobil 1 through my engine since the first oil change at 5k miles

if im not mistaken,,,,royal purple is fine,,,if it has the seal on it it will not effect your warranty. im pretty sure as long as it is the same weight and fully synthetic, it doesnt matter what brand you use.

I just put Royal Purple 5-30 in my '03 CR/W MC and it feels like it has a bit more power than before......of course it could just be wishful thinking.

My warranty expired a month ago.

Well Royal Purple definately helps with delivering power to the ground cause it lubricates so well. In fact I use it in my Prelude, RX-7, and Supra cause I use those for racing and drifting. I used to use Mobil 1 in them and then I switched over to Royal Purple and noticed a difference (not huge, but there was still a difference in gas mileage and power). I guess I'll just call up the dealer and ask them.
