The "Monster Mini" Pickup... My new guilty pleasure?
HIDE YOUR EYES, MINI PURISTS...

This has to be the most bizarre thing I've ever seen done to a Mini... It's just... so... fugly....
But then, I read things like this:
As if that wasn’t enough, Ireson decided to ditch the stock and feeble Austin power plant in favor of a pair of Honda B16 four cylinder engines with VTEC, and twin turbochargers….and nitrous. Ireson estimates that the two mills put out a combine total of 1100 horsepower. For the love of God Paul, the car only weighs 1800 pounds!
...and my dangly bits get all to tingling.
Love it or hate it (and I'm sure many will loathe this), I still can appreciate the labor of love that obviously went into it.

I'm trying to imagine putting the pedal to the metal in this thing and I'm failing miserably... I think my brain just can't visualize it.
I'm quite certain the only thing limiting you would be the traction of your tires. 1800 lbs isn't much weight for so much raw horsepower. And I can't even begin to imagine the torque steer this would have - unless he figured out a way to apply traction to the front AND rear axles simultaneously, one per powerplant (quite likely, I suspect).
Oh... and HERE ARE SOME BIGGER PICTURES! Mwahahahaha!!!

Glad to see first and foremost, a video screen as the prominent instrument in the cabin. You know, if this guy's reality hasn't been molded into scifi enough already, he can play with the xbox between Nitrous shots.
There's no denying that the skill necessary to build this little monster is pretty amazing. Think about the car's designer/builder--once he reaches puberty... he'll be capable of creating some pretty interesting automobiles.

2phun,
That's funny. I'm sure it's not yours
(sorry for a momentary OT, but really, 2phun, your former pu has to be the nicest one I've seen online).
Ok, back on topic: I think just about the only oem "donor" parts consist of the MK1 grille and windshields. Dual engines? Hmm, I'd love to see the tube frame underneath. How does one regulate/syncronize dual engines? The engineering (can it be done safely) must be daunting. After having driven a couple of Vtec cars, I can say I would not be eager to jump into a nitrous-assisted dual-engined land rocket. The equation looks like this: CRAZY x 2= totally Insane.

Thanks! I think so too
Don't quote me on this, but I heard of one classic that was dual engined. Had an automatic A-series up front and some beast in the back that was manual. Since the auto was up front, no worries about syncronizing the two. Just put it in gear and the auto does the rest.

I took pictures of that car at SEMA last year. The guys who built it also had a 2 engined coupe Mini there, the 2nd engine was behind the front seats and the back of the car opened up for access.
The pickup in the OP was disturbing to look at in person, but the workmanship was certainly impressive.

Agreed! The paint is what kills it for me! Just a cool concept ruined by poor execution.
a. It said it has an AWD system
b. Gauges FTW!
c. That's a pretty uber wicked paint job, but I wouldn't sport it... now all black on the other hand... woo!
Interesting and unique though!

Conspicuous consumption in crack.
Don't people have better things to do than rape an innocent Mini? Must have been some potent drugs to do that paint job. Makes me think of the line in Christine: "You can't polish a turd."
