New Owner 03 BRG- Radio Problems

Proud new owner of an 03 BRG. The car is a blast to drive! Now the bad- the radio(HK) does not work. Specifically, no sound although the radio display shows the station, inputs, and recognizes a cd. I searched for a solution but did not locate any. Any help would be appreciated.

It sounds like the amp problem (as in the amp no longer works). Did you try pulling power from the amp (or the whole car). That might get the amp to reset, although I think that once they are gone, they are gone. Try ebay for an idea of what a real world price is on the amps. The dealership price will peak your blood pressure for sure. Good luck!

My 1st thought was that maybe the plug into the back of the head unit somehow got disconnected. Maybe the original owner had an iPod adapter or AUX input installed that they took with them and loosened something during the uninstall.
Try re-seating the connections before anything else. You have the euro parcel shelf. Undo the 2 screws holding it up and let it swing down on its hinges. Reach in behind the radio and push all the connections in tight. If that doesn't fix your problem, start looking at amps, but it's a 10 minute job, and if it fixes your issue, you've saved the money and time.

Thank you for the replies. After checking the connections, I believe the amp is toast. I was considering an upgrade anyhow so this makes it easier! My wife keeps asking when am I buying wheels and other "stuff". Wow, a green light from the ms. for purchases! Life is Good!
