BMW Winter Skills Driving Course Oct 21
BMW Winter Skills Driving Course Oct 21
I received the following from the BMW club. Thought it would be of interest to those who signed up for the Sep 30 course that was cancelled. By teaming up with the BMW club, maybe we can have a few courses per year and be able to draw on a larger group of enthusiasts. (And it's a SUNDAY)
Also, considering the weather last year, this is a really inexpensive way to make yourself safer on the road in all conditions.

Hello fellow enthusiasts and club members.
Just a quick reminder that sign up for our Oct 21st Winter Skills Driver Training session is coming to a close. Your last chance to sign up for this event will be this Wednesday Oct 17th when registrations closes.
We have a number of spots still available, so if you have been thinking of participating but had not made the leap, this is your last chance for a regular course until next year. [This course is a great way to prepare for winter driving, feel free to pass the info along to family and friends.]
As many of you know, we run a graduated program, and that means to move on and participate in the next level which is Roads Skills, you first need to complete a Car Control course with us.
Info on the October Winter Skills course including sign up etc is below:

Details:
This is a special Winter Skills version of our Car Control program which is part of our graduated programs for drivers.
The Winter Skills day is packed with both opportunities to learn, and FUN while you are doing the learning. Instruction is provided for us by the skilled professionals at Driving Unlimited who also teach for BMW, Mercedes, Mazda and several other manufacturers.
There is no better way to explore skid control, over and under steer and slip and slide that can happen on wet slippery winter roads in a safe controlled way under the supervision of a skilled instructor.
How will your car react? How will you react when the road is slippery?
How does the stability control and ABS affect things. This course lets you find out on a large flat course in a safe environment.
Our Car Control program is suitable for all, and is a wonderful safe way to learn more about yourself and your car. Whether you've been driving for ages, or are new to the game, you'll find the program informative and fun. It is a great way to brush up on safety skills that will help you be a better safer driver in all your day to day driving situations, and have fun doing so. The course is held at the new British Columbia Driving Centre at Pitt Meadows, so you can have FUN for the day with cones.
The session is available to both members and non members, and a BMW is not required to attend and learn valuable safety skills. Bring the daily driver car of choice. An excellent program for long time and new drivers alike.
Registration and prepayment is required. Use the following Karelo link to pay and register:

If we can get one item out of the way, Brian and I will be there in his Saturn. I, as usual, will be watching and taking pictures and hopefully staying dry as the back has gone out again.
