IPF lights and alta bar

Does anyone here have any input on the ipf lights that come with the alta light bar? I am not sure if I want to get the bar and lights together, or get the bar alone and go with 2 hella 500 driving and 2 hella yello fogs.
I have my wife talked into this that it is a safety necessity that I need some sort of rally light set up since I drive the fog alley on my way to and from Knoxville regularly

I have had the Alta set up for ~9 months now. I absolutely love them. The IPF's are really great lights. And their service is excelent(ARB-IPF, and Alta's). The Hella combo would work great, but my set up suits me just fine. And you have the option to use 55W or 100W, they send you both bulbs. I am just going to get some yellow film for the two middle ones.

Thanks Chris , how do you have these connected, ie, can you turn them on independent of the headlights, and do they have one switch for all four lights or one for two?

I have my lights connected so that I can turn them on and off with the supplied switches independently from all other lights in the car. The first switch opperates the outside two and the second switch opperate the inside two.

Alright I just recieved them, so I have a project for the weekend. How tough is this install? Chris, are there any pointers you might have for me? I am not mechanically inclined, but my neighbor is

Hmmm, lets see here...
I would be patient, I think this is key to any mini mod.
It is all pretty much straight foward. Until(dun dun dun, Just kidding) you have to decide how to wire the thing in. I think that you are the one that I sent pics to? If not just let me know and I will get some pics of my wires to you asap.
The thing that I would definitely do is put some silicone sealant on the main bolts(the ones that connect the light bar to the bracket) and on the bolts that connect the brackets to the bumper support.
Oh, that's the BIGGY!
Make sure that you measure multiple MULTIPLE times!
Just take your time and try not to get frustrated. It will all be worth it in the end. If you need any help just give me a ring. PM me for my cell #.
When you are all done, take it out in the country side(if there is one near you, hahaha) at night, I mean pitch black out. Light them all up with your brights on and play around with em'. It's like riding around with the SUN as your co-pilot.

Much appreciated. Yeah a few pics of the wiring would be very helpful

I think I might get different switches though, like 2, 30 or 40 amp safety switches, just for looks. We'll see.

Thanks for the tip on the silicone as well. Is this more for keeping the bolts screwed in or more for vibration and rattles?

I can't wait to get these lights on

The silicone is actually only necessary if you live up north(Ohio for me) because of salt in the winter.
PM me your cell # and I will send the pics(they are on my cell, not digital camera).

I have the bar installed (and the lights so I check the clearances), gathering up the courage to do the wiring. Any chance you could post or send the pictures you took?

Thanks!

Here are some pics of the wiring, but it was pretty damn easy for a thumbelina such as myself.

The yellow wires are for the lights, not pretty but it works, I have two outer lights on one switch and the two inner on another so they come on separatly. I have all lights wired with the parking lights

I passed the wires into the cabin through a grommet behind the knee bolster for the switches.

I have each relay mounted on each side of the strut tower. Make sure to mount the relays vertically so water will not sit in the contacts. Where there might be some rubbing, I wrapped the wire with some friction tape.

I also didn't like the way the lights were mounted originally into the bar, you did not have much vertical adjustment. My neighbor had some aluminum angle bracket lying around that we cut and polished to mount to the bar and bave a place to mount the lights

Wow...I was going to redrill holes in my bumper (the first set is too high, creating a clearance/fit issue). Bolt on brackets is so much easier.

Don't count on it. I've had my bar on about a month here in Vegas and when I pulled out the bolts to mount my lights I discovered they were already pretty corroded.
