wheel bore fitment...

I ran across this in another thread but i lost it. So ill make this quick. I have a r56 and im going to buy rota boost 16x6.5 rims. The retailer says that the bore is 56. Will this fit the lugs? Ive heard that there have been issues with different rims not fitting the 07 mini and people having to get a conversion kit.

Thanks.
Jared

The center bore for the MINI is 56.1mm and I've seen in another thread that the Boost is 56.1. The only other thing you need to check is if the holes for the lug bolts will accomodate the 14mm that your R56 requires. The early '06s and prior used 12mm bolts.

Also....the hub bore has nothing to do with the lugs fitting. The bore deals with the fitment on the hub and whether you need to use a hubcentric ring.

Hub bore is the one big opening in the center hub portion of the wheel.

The size is different for different cars. Rota and other wheel companies will tend to make the opening larger so that more cars can use the wheels but you can use centering rings to help to make the wheel match and fit the car's hub.

Some companies like Rota will offer some wheels in stock MINI hub bore size of 56.1mm otherwise it is likely to be 57.1, 67.1 or 73 mm.

Bolt pattern is 4x100 mm for the MINI and bolt size is 12mm for the older MINIs and 14mm for the newest R56 MINIs (and most recent R53)
