I was wondering how to tell what suspension I have on my 05 MCS JCW. I bought it used and other then the JCW under the hood and exhaust modifications I dont know if the first owner opted for the JCW suspension or not. is there a way to tell what im sitting on?

the jcw suspension was a dealer option. it also had stickers on it and red springs. chances are you have plain ole stock suspension.

yup... red springs (easy to see) and JCW logo stickers on the shocks (harder to see).

How does JCW COMPARE to Sport and Stock spring rates? Softer? Progressive rate instead of linear? Descriptions seem to often read "Better handling but not as harsh (as stock)," lead me to think that JCW springs may be progressive instead of linear rate design?

I want to know whether JCW alter ride height (I have read some who say there is a slightly lower ride height with JCW: 1/4-1/2") vs. "sport" (can anyone confirm this?), whether JCW needs different bump stops (in other words, can anyone tell me whether and how different stops impact function/performance of the JCW) -- are there "JCW bump stops"?

Why is there such a shortage of data in the area of spring rates (both OEM and aftermarket). Seems like TSW and Tein are the only makers willing to tell what they sell!!

I am surprised that no one has actually done real testing (scientific measurements) in this arena. Hey, MC2, how about it? Get CU or some other testing labs to really test all the OEM and aftermarket springs available for the MINI?

Lastly, has anyone tried JCW springs with Koni FSDs? If so, what impressions and results ("seat-of-the-pants" feel is acceptable input).

Thanks.
