How to remove the OEM Speedometer/Tac trim

I bought the Chrome speedometer/tac trim for my MC. I have the NAV so my speedometer sits together with the tac on top the steering column. Has anyone removed theirs? It doesn't want to pry off.

unscrew it from the steering column, some screws behind the gauges. Then disconnect the plug. Then there are screws on the back of the tach and speedo which you have. Take the units apart, then you can get the chrome part off. It will not pry off, you will break it, it needs to be taken apart. Similar for those that have done the gauge face plate changes to different colors. I did mine in blue, so I had to pull my tach apart.

good luck...are you just switching to something other than chrome? Or do you have a special project in mind?

I have pics and instructions in my gallery here: https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...y.php/cat/1847
For each step, look at the description under Photo Details. You only need steps 1 to 9. When screwing the unit back on the steering column, I found it a bit finicky to align the holes perfectly so the screws go in without stripping threads.

Thanks guys, I will try your instructions. I'm just changing the OEM gray rings to OEM chrome rings.
