looking for advice on tires

I've ordered Konig Feather Black 17x7 wheels and I'm not sure about the tires. I'm looking at 215/40 Z-Rated non-runflat summer tires. I am wondering if those of you that have used these tires could help me out with advise and recommendations. Here are my best options:

($) Kumho Ecsta ASX 87W
($) Yokohama AVS ES100 83W
($$) Pirelli P-Zero Nero M+S 83W (all season)
($$$) Dunlop SP Sport Maxx 87Y
($$$) Bridgestone Potenza RE050A 83Y
($$$$) Bridgestone Potenza S03 83Y

The reason for these particular tires are that they are readily available through my favorite local tire dealer. They've taken great care of me for many years so I want to stick with tires they have in stock rather than special orders.

Thanks for your help! My car will love you for it

I've currently got the Sport Maxxes (205/45-17) and I like 'em! Grippy and pretty quiet (to me anyway). I've worn out the fronts in about 15,000 or so miles - they haven't been rotated and I drive fairly agressively - but the rears are almost like new, and I've got a pair of new ones in the garage waiting to go on the car.

I previously had the Pirellis on my car (205/50-16) and they were pretty good. They rode quietly and comfortably. They could be slid pretty easily in corners, but they were also VERY predictable and fairly quiet in doing so. They never just suddenly broke away. Once you got used to their traction characteristics, they were kinda fun.

Thanks for the advice! I've been leaning towards the Pirelli's. They are holding a set for me while we wait for the Konig wheels to come in. I just started having second thoughts since they are all-season rather than summer ultra-performance. Living in the bay area, CA, heavy rain or snow is not a big factor in the decision.

I am curious since I've noticed many people on NAM mention they do not rotate their tires, is their a performance related reason for this?

I've personally heard good things about both the Kumhos and Yokos... more people seem to like the Yokos if they are the same price though...

Yeah, most of the "summer" tires still have really good wet traction, and in NorCal that's mostly what we need (unless you take regular trips to Tahoe in the winter). The Pirellis are a pretty good compromise, I think. They're rated as all-season, but I think they have a bit more of a "street friendly" tread than a lot of M+S tires. They're nice tires.

For me it was just a matter of lots of miles in a short time, and absentmindedness. Tire rotation is pretty haphazard for me as it is. This time I just put a bunch of miles on 'em before I realized they were so worn.

Been very happy with the Pirelli P-Zero Nero M+S 83W

Did not like at all the Yokohama AVS ES100 83W
