I know there is a motorsports complex in Council Bluffs. check it out here http://www.midamericamotorplex.com/2006/default.asp that might be a good place to start. Are you from Omaha? if so welcome to C.O.R.N.

Sometimes they do autocross out here in Hastings at the track. Check out the site www.racemph.com Check out the site. Can be hard to find schedule information but they have contact info and phone #'s give George a call and see what they have planned.

That is the Nebraska Chapter for the SCCA. There's a calendar on the site that will give you a list of all the dates for local auto-x events. Typically, they are held in Lincoln and a couple just over the river in Council Bluffs. Unfortunately, there isn't any real venue that the local chapter has been able to secure, in the immediate Omaha metro.
However, that hasn't deterred me or the 2 other Mini owners from attending. 
They just had an auto-x clinic last Saturday and a regular points event Sunday down in Lincoln, in the Southwest High School parking lot. I made it to the class, but was unable to attend the main, Sunday, event. But nonetheless, the class was well put together and we got a lot of great pointers from very good drivers! Money well spent.
So, if you attend just look for a Green, Dark Silver (John) or Blue/White-Striped (Ryan) Mini! One of us is likely to be there.
I believe the next event is being held August 12th.

Thanks for all the input.
I have been to MAM with my Cadillac. It is a fun track and the people there are friendly. Traffic on Fast Fridays has been very light with generally less than three cars on the track at a time.
If the next Autocross is the 12th I will miss it. I am headed to MITM with my daughter.
I will keep an eye out for you guys around town.
