What's involved in changing the LEDs in the dials?
I want to change the color of my dial LEDs from orange to green (as well the interior orange LEDs). What's involved? Any tutorials? Where to buy the LEDs?
We discussed this a while back, because I was crazy enough to want to do it. However, after seeing how it works, it's nearly impossible. They're not backlit or anything like that - the LEDs are embedded in the electrical board of the dials themselves. The LEDs are maybe a millimeter square. Ian (GBMINI) did a similar mod to his stereo, and he's particularly circuit-board-handy, and said he'd never do it again - it was way too fiddly and tedious.
But as far as the regular interior lighting (the waterfalls, footwell lighting, boot lighting, etc), there's a thread around here somewhere about it, if you do a search.

Wow, sounds too involved for my tastes. I have access to a professional soldering/desoldering station and I'm decent with an iron, but I don't have that kind of time. I guess I'll have to live with orange.
Here's another thread on the topic: https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...ad.php?t=94118
Foxtrot_Xray has done the conversion for a number of people and you can make an arrangement to have yours done.
Not color changing, but EssentialMINI in the UK has done color mixes like this:
