MINI mechanics in Raleigh, NC?

Hi everyone. I've had my '03 R53 since she was new and am interested in making a few performance upgrades. I'm sure a MINI dealer could help, but the nearest one is 110 miles from me. Does anyone know of a reputable garage that works on MINIs in the Raleigh-Durham-Chapel Hill area? Thanks in advance.

I asked the exact same question about 8 months ago...

And was pointed to Grassroots. Dan Zipkin is THE MAN. Seriously, there is NO ONE else within hours of here I would trust my car to. The easy stuff I do myself. The hard stuff, Dan does. I trust the dealer for the free oil changes, and that's about it.

Also - come meet more local MINI enthusiasts on Thursday night in Raleigh - details are HERE. There will be some Grassroots modded cars there...

Read the story of my Grassroots mod day here.

I'm another Dan Fan! He's done a variety of mods for me, from minor, (I can't turn a wrench), like the CAI, to major, like putting a boost guage in the middle vent in the dash and running the plumbing under the hood with no visibility so it all looks stock, and he prep's my car for track days with brake fluid replacement, inspection checklist certification, and the like.

He does it all, he's fanatically ****, ;-) just what you want in a mechanic!
