R50/53 Question about bringing mini in for service
Question about bringing mini in for service
Hi, everyone!
I'm a proud owner of a 2005 Mini Cooper
I just have a quick question about service
I only have 9000 kms on my little one and i've had it for 2 years now. Winters where i live are dreadful and there's snow on the ground from november to march!
Should i wait until my next service comes up (which says 15 000 km on the odometer) but who knows when that'll ever happen?! or should i bring it in yearly to check things over?!
i've talked with the dealer but i also want some input form other mini owners!
also out of curiousity, how often should the car get an oil change? i know it's not as often as other cars!

If you are talking about oil change, you should do this per the service interval or every year, which ever comes first. If you have not gone in for an oil change over the last 2 years, I HIGHLY recommend that you go get one.
That is typically the first MINI service.

There is a sevice countdown on the odometer when you first turn the car on-it tells you the mileage (KM's in your case) left untill service. It sounds like you'll qualify got the once a year schedule as you do not put many miles/Km's on you car- how do you do that???
I've got 3,600 miles on mine and I bought it in May!

You should most definitely bring it in for service. This is especially true since you hardly use the car. That sounds counter-intuitive, but it isn't. That you live in a harsh climate area only adds to the necessity.
