No sound using aux plug

hi all. i took delivery of an '07 mcs pepper white this yesterday. this is my first mini and i love it! anyway, i bought an xm radio and aux cable and can't get sound. and yes i did change the radio to aux. any suggestions? thanks!

What output are you plugging your cable into on your XM Radio? I had this problem at first too. I initially plugged into the AUX output on the back of the radio and it did not work. I changed it to the headphone jack, and it worked.

Also make sure the xm output is set to 3-4, default on my roady was 3. The mini aux input level is default at 1 and needs to be bumped up a couple of notches as well.
