What's in store for the '08 MINI?

A few changes are being made to the Cooper and Cooper S in 2008, among them are regenerative braking, shift indicator, and an auto engine cut off switch. Anyone know more details, such as are these all going to be standard, or if not which will be options.

I believe there was a question whether features would be offered in the US. There is a thread...maybe several...about this stuff in the R56 forum.

I think these features will be pretty interesting, as long as they don't become obtrusive when driving performance oriented. Shift indicators can be ignored, auto-stop feature disabled, but the regenerative braking could be a problem if they don't do it right.

I found this pretty interesting...

For even simpler extension of on-board entertainment facilities in the new MINI, a USB connection including Bluetooth function is optionally available from August 2007 for the integration of external audio sources. This enables USB-compatible storage media and MP3 players such as the Apple iPod to be integrated in the MINI entertainment system via the USB port. Music selection can then be accessed via the audio system controls where the menu offers to choose between interpreter, album etc.
