Hello Portlanders!

I had a chance to once again visit your beautiful city last weekend. A good friend of mine passed away last month, and his Memorial Service was held at PIR last Saturday evening.
Sure are a lot of MINIs up there! I did wave to one, but as I was driving the rental Crown Vic, it just wasn't the same.
Next time I come up, I'll post it first so I can get some inside tips!
And maybe I'll drive so I can really appreciate your twisties!
Jim

Oh...One question....What's with the parking meters that spit out the tag you stick to the window? Let's see..park car, get out of said car, walk the half block to the machine, buy time, return to car, stick tag to the inside of the window. In the pouring rain!

It's our way of saying "Welcome to town. . . you need to walk more."

They were expensive and a hassel but there are less meters on the sidewalk so that is kind of nice.

Best is that you can change spaces and take the ticket with you. Also takes debit!

It is also common practice to stick your ticket (if it has any time left) on the meter. On numerous occasions, I have pulled up to the curb to go to the bank and received a ticket from someone that bought too much time.

Just be glad you didn't get stuck on Burnside thinking that you could turn in any direction
